Freeing Color from Labels
Even what appears to be a “red” apple, when examined closely, reveals hints of yellow, green, and brown intertwined within the red. Natural color is never singular; it’s built from layered blends that convey depth and shift moment by moment over time. For the sake of convenience, we tend to simplify and label colors. This work is a set of crayons created to help us rediscover the subtle hues we might otherwise overlook.
色をラベリングから解放する
一見「赤い」リンゴも、よく観察すると赤のなかに黄や緑、茶色などが混ざり合っています。自然の色彩は単一ではなく、奥行きを感じさせる重層的な混色で構成され、時間の経過とともに刻々と移ろいます。私たちは便宜的に色を簡略化し、ラベリングしがちです。本作は見落としてしまう色の存在を再認識するために制作したクレヨンです。
