Etymology of “Clone”: From Twig
The word “clone” derives from the Greek “klon,” meaning “twig.” In this printmaking piece, I employ cherry blossom twigs as stamps to document Japan’s sakura front—the path of cherry blossoms blooming from south to north—by capturing their imprints in the print.

クローンの語源は小枝
「クローン」という言葉はギリシャ語の「klon」（小枝）に由来します。本作は桜の小枝を版（スタンプ）として用い、日本各地を巡る桜前線――桜の開花が南から北へ移り変わる軌跡――を版画作品として写し採っています。
